While most of this discussion is amongst the RP community and discusses matters only they can direct themselves, I will comment on the whole news thing.
Basically, we are in a lull at the moment with the loss of AURORA which we all keenly feel, at least I do. But there are plans apace to get the ball rolling again news wise which wont be too far off as soon as we sort out kinks with a new volunteer agency.
But, RP in EVE has always been about the players, not the content we put out there. Obviously its up to us provide a richer tapestry for everyone, and there are some factors still about the prime fiction of EVE that rankle many.

Like I say, this is wrapped up in a much bigger project which, to be honest, is tied to many things which I cant really effect - if thats not mysterious enough for you. But the plan is there, the Empire as it is, leaderless is how we want it.
I know the pain the loyalists are feeling at following an Empire without an Emporer. But its not because we dont care, or we cant be arsed to replace one. Its just that we have a large plot tied up with many other things and that we cant mess our whole story up to appease you guys. I know its been a long time coming, and it might be a while longer, but I promise you here and now, its not because its forgotten.

I think that perhaps you are wrong, the last 1 year and 6 months have seen quite a plethora of activity. Of course, if you would like to back up your statement with some reasonable facts then we can discuss that.

While true a degree, it's always about the players taking the ball and running with it, this quite honestly sounds like a bad excuse to not do anything about a somewhat rotten situation. To use an analogy, while a football game is ultimately won by the guys on the field, surely the coach and the support teams have an immense effect on the outcomes? It won't do any good raising your hands up and blaming it on the players. That's no way to manage.
It depends what you mean by an excuse. If it sounds like an excuse for lack of news and interaction with player base from PF entities then thats one im willing to take that on. If its the what some players perceive to be the state of the RP community, I cannot and will not dictate players on how to play their game.

And I know everyone wants love to their specific corner of RP, which is only understandable. When I was a player and a RP'er I wanted the same and totally understand.
Personal interaction is something that is not going to be on the board for some time at least, AURORA is gone. But like I say, we have some things on the way.

getting advantage of the situation. is white wolf going to assume any side of rp in eve?
Obviously white wolf has a distinguished and well deserved reputation on the rp side of things and we'd be fools not to think about this angle. However, its not for me to discuss at this time.

Also, ive played a few MMO's in my time and none of their RP communities compare to what we have here imo.
EVE's a gritty nasty realistic (ok ok, its spaceships) place and its one of the hardest to RP in, because its so akin to what we know yet so .. not.
If that makes any sense at all.

Yes you make sense GoGo, and we do push for such things and continue to do so. And were getting more and more people which mean more and more resources. But the tapestry of EVE needs weaving more and we will do that.
